PBH 367 - Social Inequality and Health


Description
This course will use a sociological lens to examine how social inequality shapes health patterns, behaviors, and outcomes. We will explore the role of social and structural determinants of health, including race, immigration status, gender, education, occupation, families, social networks, and neighborhoods. We will also discuss clinical, policy, and other social interventions aimed at reducing health inequalities. This course is largely U.S.-focused, however many concepts and theories discussed can be applied in global settings. Same as SOC/STS 367.

SOC 100  OR PBH 251
