HIS 149 - Africa and the Black World: Concepts and Context

Explores the emergence of continental (“African”) and racial (“Black”) identities with particular emphasis on the roles of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, the rise of racial thought in Europe and the Americas, and the impact of European imperialism. Same as AFS 149 .
