GOV 358 - Rights and Representations


Description
This course explores controversies about the First Amendment (or freedom of expression), particularly in relation to race and gender, in the past and in the contemporary US. This class examines the categorical exceptions to the First Amendment and then focuses on the following case studies: hate speech in higher education, racial and sexual harassment in employment, and harassment in cyberspace. Same as AMS/WGS 358.
