RST 332 - Religon and Politics Description This course begins with various Christian classics, St. Augustine, Calvin, and their vision of the relation of Christianity to the State or to the pursuit of power and wealth in general. It then moves to the last few centuries, in which the Christian vision has been challenged by thinkers such as Rousseau and Nietzsche. It ends with some readings from the contemporary period in which the place of Christianity in the public sphere is again shifting. Credits: 1
