PHI 323 - Philosophy of Law Description What is law, what does it say, and what reasons do we have for listening? This course surveys central questions in analytic and normative jurisprudence-the analysis of the concept of law, the relationship between law and morality, the authority of law, and questions about what the law should say. We’ll read competing views of how to interpret the Constitution. We will end with some challenges to the law from neuroscience, Marxist critics, Critical Legal Studies, and Critical Race Theory.
