PBH 448 - Public Health Practice Seminar


Description
This seminar for advanced public health students will combine classroom and field work to explore various areas of public health practice. A service-learning model will be used, with focus on student learning, engagement with community needs and priorities, and critical reflection. Students will read about and discuss common themes in public health practice and spend approximately 8-10 hours weekly at a community-based site. Projects will be relevant to community health and involve at least one of several professional activities (e.g. assessment, programming, evaluation, education).
