MUS 240 - Conducting


Description
This course will develop the following conducting skills: score study techniques, conducting gestures, rehearsal strategies, as well as aural discrimination and interpersonal skills. Class members will prepare and perform a piece with an F&M ensemble. This course includes an individual one-hour lesson and a two-hour master class. The ability to read music in both treble and bass clefs is required, as is a basic knowledge of music theory with respect to key signatures (both major and minor), time signatures (both simple and compound), and basic chord progressions. Permission of the director required.
