MUS 205 - Songwriting Description An introduction to the art of songwriting. Students will create original lyrics and melodies and learn how to set them with suitable accompaniments. Topics covered will include aspects of sound, figures of speech, speaker perspective, rhyme, rhythm and meter, phrasing, chord progression, and form. Each student will compose and make recordings of two original songs with guidance and practical feedback from the instructor. A background in music performance and/or some experience with creative writing is strongly recommended. Same as ENG 205 . Credits: 1
