ECO 303 - Marxian Theories of Crisis Description This seminar will entail a detailed reading and discussion of the primary literature on Marxian perspectives on capitalist crises with particular attention to the Great Recession. Specifically, the perspectives covered in this course include the profit squeeze, rising organic composition of capital, underconsumption, and stagnation explanations. Also included in this course are Marxian critiques of neoliberalism and financialization. The course will look both at theories and data to support or refute various perspectives. Prerequisite ECO 203
