ECO 282 - Women, Culture & Development


Description
The course covers the role of gender in different cultures across the non-industrialized world and the impact of economic development on the positions of women and gender relations in these societies. Women’s contribution to economic and social change and the extent to which conventional methods of analysis in economics can be applied to their situations. Examination of the construction of the ‘Third World woman’ in the development discourse. Same as WGSS 282.
