AST 386 - Changing Concepts of the Universe


Description
Historical examination of primitive and early cosmologies to present-day theories of the organization, extent, and nature of the universe as a whole. Early Greek astronomy to present-day theories of steady state, big bang, and oscillating universes. Use of simple astronomical instruments to reproduce observations of early astronomers. (Not a laboratory course.) Same as STS386.
