A joint major in Africana Studies consists of eight courses:

• AFS 150 - Introduction to African American Studies Credits: 1 OR
• AMS 150 - Introduction to African American Studies Credits: 1

• OR

• AFS 149 - Africa and the Black World Credits: 1 OR
• HIS 149 - Africa and the Black World: Concepts and Context Credits: 1

• AFS 141 - History of North & West Africa Credits: 1 OR
• HIS 141 - History of North and West Africa Credits: 1

• OR

• HIS 142 - History of East and Southern Africa Credits: 1
