This course will provide both an introduction to some theoretical issues in cognitive neuroscience (e.g. the degree of localization of cognitive faculties), as well as an in-depth look at the neural bases of memory, language and motor control. Of particular interest will be understanding the technologies and techniques of cognitive neuroscience–including direct neural recording; functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI); magnetic encephalography (MEG); electroencephalography (EEG); and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
